Hope the children have had plenty of opportunities to relax, spend time with family and friends, enjoy days out and make lots of happy memories.

The first week back will be a short one, but we hope to settle into our routines quickly and begin our teaching straight away. We are also looking forward to hearing all about the children's summer adventures and sharing some of their favourite memories from the holidays.

Our curriculum letter can be found on the class page. This will provide an overview of the topics and exciting learning experiences planned for the term ahead.

English:
In English, the children will begin by writing a recount of a day from their summer holiday. They will have the opportunity to share their memories, organise their ideas in chronological order and use interesting vocabulary to describe their experiences. We are looking forward to hearing about some of their favourite summer moments!

Maths:
In Maths, we will be reviewing strategies for adding and subtracting across 10. This will allow the children to revisit their previous learning, develop their confidence and strengthen their understanding before moving on to new mathematical concepts.

I am looking forward to seeing the children grow in confidence, independence and enthusiasm, as they take on the exciting challenges of Year 3.
