Nettlebed Pre-School
Nettlebed Pre-School is a teacher led class and has been part of the school since 2022. It is called Unicorn Class and is an integral part of our school community, joining in with many of the school experiences. We welcome children for 15 hours or more per week from the term in which they turn 3. These hours can be privately funded or Government funded. We offer Forest School each week amidst a carefully planned curriculum to enable the children to thrive in their play and learning.
For parents wishing to use their full 30 hours allocation the pre-school is open daily from 9.00am until 3.00pm. For an additional fee your child can start at 8.45 and remain in school until 3.30 which brings the pre-school in line with the main school hours. Children can also access before and after school clibs to provide wrap around care from 7.45 to 4.30.
For children who wish to attend for 15 hours up to 30 hours you can chose mornings or afternoons and the sessions are: 9.00 - 12.00 and 12.00 - 3.00. Lunch is taken in the morning session.
There are 24 spaces available per session and there is a snack consisting of somethign such as fruit or crackers per session. The children follow the curriculum of the school and have short age appropriate sessions which focus on phonics and maths throughout their day which is reinforced in all play opportunities around the room. The children have further short sessions linked to a class topic which is child led and structured around helping all children to work towards the Early Learning Goals.
