Week Ahead in Discovery 15.06.2612 June 2026 (by Sonia Coles (scoles)) |
We have had a wonderful second week of Term 2.
The children continue to show great enthusiasm for our Ancient Egyptians topic, and it has been lovely to see so many children bringing in books and resources to share with the class. Their curiosity and excitement for learning have been fantastic to see.
The countdown to Hill End has officially begun, and the children are becoming increasingly excited about the adventure ahead!
English
This week, the children wrote a discussion text exploring whether it was better to be a pharaoh or a slave during the Ancient Egyptian era. They carefully compared the advantages and disadvantages of each role before making their own decision and justifying their choice.
Next week, we will be writing a newspaper report based on an incident from The Egyptian Cinderella. We are looking forward to developing our journalistic writing skills.
Maths
In Maths, we have continued our unit on Time. Homework worksheets have been set to support and reinforce the learning taking place in class. Please encourage your child to complete these, as regular practice is vital for securing their understanding and building confidence.
Homework Reminders

Thank you for your continued support. .Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
