Week Ahead In Discovery 10.11.257 November 2025 (by Sonia Coles (scoles)) |
It has been a great start to Term 2. The children really enjoyed their learning experience at the Earth Trust learning all about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age.
Our Year 3 students were wonderful! They conducted themselves beautifully and showed fantastic listening skills.
On another positive note, we have won the class treat!
Children can wear slippers or comfortable footwear all week, bring in a labelled soft toy, and on Friday enjoy a non-uniform day with some extra chill-out and play time.
Well done, Year 3 - you’ve earned it!
English:
This week, the children will be writing a non-chronological fact file about the Stone Age. As an extension, they may also include information about the Bronze Age and Iron Age. They will draw upon their learning experiences from our trip to the Earth Trust and the information gathered during lessons. Children will be encouraged to organise their writing into clear paragraphs and to apply the new vocabulary we have been learning in class.
Maths:
We will continue with our Addition and Subtraction unit. Homework for this week is a double-sided worksheet, set at an appropriate level for each child.
Homework:
-
Spellings
-
Reading
-
Times tables
-
SPaG booklets (next page)
-
Maths worksheet
I’ve also sent home scripts and emailed the songs for the children to learn at home.
Thank you for all your support, and wishing you all a lovely weekend!
