Week Ahead In Discovery 28.04.2527 April 2025 (by Sonia Coles (scoles)) |
It has been a very hectic week in school with an ofsted inspection and launch of our new topic. However, this week will be busy, exciting trip to Nettlebed Estate.
Monday and Tuesday morning the class will be split into 2 groups. We will visit Nettlebed Estate led by Holly Rosier and Jess. The visit will fit perfectly with our topic 'Are all settlements the same?' Children will have the opportunity to look at OS maps, land use, learn about plants ( seed dispersal, pollination, etc) and enjoy a tractor ride.
During the morning group 2 will remain in class and continue writing their newspaper report and complete their maths lesson. However, we will swap the same activities of Tuesday morning with group 1.
Please ensure your child brings a fresh bottle of water and a healthy snack, wear sun cream and a hat. They will also need to wear long bottoms and sturdy footwear. This will be a non- uniform day because of our trip for group 1 on Monday and group 2 on Tuesday. However, please be mindful be mindful that children from group 2 on Tuesday will still have PE. They will require trainers and appropriate clothing.
Your child would've written in their planner which day they will be visiting Nettlebed Estate.
Maths- Continuation with Fraction B unit. It is expectation that your child continues to learn their times table daily to embed the learning and to make them secure.
Homework: Maths homework has been set on Atom learning, spag booklets sent home with the date, reading and times table practise daily. No spellings were issued due to Jungle Club website being down.
Thank you all for your support and wishing you all a lovely and warm week ahead.
