It's been another very busy week in Investigator! Read on to find out what we have been up to...

Geography Topic – field work part 2. This time the class went further afield to monitor the traffic in other locations in Nettlebed, to gauge public opinion about the amount of litter in Nettlebed and of course we incorporated a quick stop at the park to find further inspiration for our D&T playground designs.

In English writing, we have started work on a narrative writing unit. This will continue into next week. The story takes inspiration for our Boy at the Back of the Classroom shared text and begins with an empty chair. Then let the imaginations run wild!  Where is the empty chair?  What does it look like? Who will sit in it? I can’t wait to find out answers to all of these questions as children tell their stories.

It was interesting to hear the authors at the literary festival events talk about their writing and their inspiration for writing. Let’s hope some of their expertise has rubbed off on us!

D&T – Last week children drew ideas for playground structures and this week they have started to build them. We are very impressed with their structures; they have shown creativity and ingenuity in design and also skilful construction.

Bikeability Y4/Y5

• Y5: Monday/Tuesday or Monday/Thursday
• Y4: Thursday

Y5s you must bring your bikes in on Monday and you will leave them here for the second session (either Tuesday or Thursday).

Y5s should wear PE kit on Monday as you will be more comfortable for cycling. You may need warm coats /rain coats depending on the weather.

Y4s will need their bikes on Thursday and should dress as described above.

Homework:

SPELLINGS children have brought home their week 6 spelling list – stuck into their planners. They will be tested next Friday.
