The Week Ahead

2 October 2026 (by Sarah Roberts (sroberts))

National Poetry Day on Thursday was brilliant! Year 4 enjoyed reading poems and sharing some of our favourites all together. Then after seeking inspiration in the playground, the children had free rein and wrote some fabulous outdoor-world-inspired poems. Year 5 were inspired by the fabulous Michael Rosen, listening to some of his work to help ignite their inner poets. We have been impressed with the poetic talent of the class.

Topic Work this week focused on data collection and children carried out fieldwork gauging traffic flow on the High Street. It is not too late to return your data for your area if children brought a sheet home.

Next week, there is another field trip planned to explore further the impact of the population on our local area.
