Term 1 Week 4

2 October 2026 (by Alice Fletcher-Single (afletcher-single))

A 'Wonder'ful week, Endeavour have had! They've been writing poems as part of National Poetry Day,  conducting science experiments, collecting data for geography and designing playgrounds!
Year 6 have been given their buddy assembly information. Parents and carers - please note that there are two buddy assemblies, split by houses. It is the buddy's house, (not your child's) that is the assembly your child will present at. The first assembly is next Friday and your child has the information they need. We do hope as many parents as possible can make these assemblies. They take such pride in introducing their buddy!
Next week we will be starting the week with a local walk in Nettlebed for Geography. Please make sure your child has a rain jacket (and their completed survey if possible) on Monday and they can come in PE kit as usual. We are hoping to end the walk with a cross-curricular visit to the playground, to explore the structures and materials!
There will be some Henley Literary Festival lessons, too, which we are looking forward to!
Year 6 do not have any homework on Atom this week. They will have maths homework given out as paper copies on Monday.
As always, do not hesitate to email.
Have a wonderful weekend!

From Miss Ravenscroft:
This week has been an exciting week for writing in English! We finished the non-chronological reports about population changes, which I must say have been really insightful and well presented.Thursday was National Poetry Day and we took part in a live lesson (Michael Rosen was a host) which was the start of a 'wonder'ful  two days of poetry writing from the children. Every time the children are able to complete such creative pieces,  I'm overcome with such pride! Well done Year 5 writers.
Maths this week has been applying Year 4 knowledge on 'bridging' numbers to solve addition and subtraction problems in tenths and hundredths. Homework this week is on Atom Learning.
Homework:
English- please read chapter 17

English- On ATOM

Maths- on ATOM learning, please do keep encouraging your child to complete their maths and English homework as it has been very helpful to identify the areas that still require a little more support
Spellings- new spellings have been given out ready for next Friday's test
