T1 W5 Adventure Class27 September 2026 (by Elle Freeman (efreeman)) |
Apologies for the missed update last week, back on track this week so you can see what's coming up in Week 5. This week, the children have been looking at maps and talking about where they live and what's around them. We have explored google maps together and the features we can spot, making our own diagrams of where we live.
The sounds we have focused on are: i n m d
The sounds from the previous week were: s a t p
You will be able to practice these sounds with your children in their little 'sounds pack'. We add sounds for the previous week, so you will only have 's a t p' at the moment as we finished the next set only on Friday.
In maths we have been practicing counting and ordinality.
In P.E we have been playing listening games whilst working on core balances and strengthening our gross motor skills.
Next Week
This week we continue to look at maps and creating our own. We will focus a little more on homes, both our own and those around the world. We will write some 'weekend news' and begin some gentle writing attempts.
Our phonics sounds for this week will be 'g o c k'.
The children will bring their first phonics reader home, spending some time with your child, breaking down the words ('p-a-t') and then blending them together ('pat') will help them build reading confidence with the sounds they already know. If you need any guidance before our phonics morning on reading with your child, please do reach out.
In maths we will be focused on composition and groups made of 1, 2 and 3.
