A big well done to all our Adventure children on a very fun-filled, hard working first full week at school! Each and every one of them has been so brave and resilient in getting used to the routines and rules of our classroom.

Next Week 13/09/26

This week we continue to discuss and talk all about us, with a focus particularly on our families and special people. We will make a mini family tree and label pictures of who is close to us and share with others.

We will begin our very first phonics sessions, and bring home a reading for pleasure book of our choice. Our sounds on the first week will be 's, a, t, p' with Friday as a consolidation day. The children will bring home with them a little bag with sounds in to practice at home and show you what they have learned. They will not yet have a phonics reading book until the following week.

We will work on writing our names with correct letter formation and become more secure in recognising it.

We continue to finish our All About Me Bags, as there are lots of children left to share these too.

As part of our family focus we will also explore life stages and think about life before school such as when we were a baby, matching up pictures of baby animals with their parents and thinking about family relationships.
