The children coped very well with the weather last week, thank you all for your patience and understanding with early pick-ups and last minute water gun requests! The extreme heat offered lots of learning opportunities, with year 6 continuing their climate change unit in science and year 5 estimating the volume of ice cubes in a jug in maths!
Production rehearsals are in full swing and a huge thank you to those children who have learned their lines! It is coming together and we can't wait for you to see it.
Well done to the Boccia champions - A word from Ms Roberts...
Huge well done Boccia Champions!
Huge congratulations to Lila, Harry, Jasper and Matthew. These amazing Year 6s represented the school magnificently last week at the Oxfordshire Boccia Finals - I was so proud of them. Obviously, they behaved impeccably and conducted themselves in true Nettlebed style -with courage and determination, a good degree of competitiveness coupled with a wonderful sense of sportsmanship. They won 4 out of 5 matches, winning the tournament and were declared Oxfordshire Boccia Primary Champions! Sarah Roberts.
Endeavour class is so proud of you all, what a fantastic result!
Next week...The weather should be slightly more what we're used to fingers crossed!
In history, the class will explore the census entries of Evelyn Dove and compare the changes between the 1911 and 1921 Censuses. This will inform their writing for this week, as they identify features of a biography in English lessons before writing their own biography of Evelyn Dove.

Thank you to those year 6 parents who have completed the form for Longridge on ParentPay - Can I please ask that you email me if your child is being collected from Longridge by a different parent? I'm sure there are lots of car shares going on, I just need to know before we go.
