Next Week in Investigator8 May 2026 (by Sarah Roberts (sroberts)) |
Another week has flown by in Investigator Class and it feels like we are nearly at the end of this term already. Children continue to impress me with their understanding of a hot desert biome and we are really enjoying The Song Walker – our shared text.
Next week, we will find out how this amazing environment is under threat. Not surprisingly, it is the activities of human beings that are the root cause.
Hill End meeting for Year 4 Parents
The meeting is next Tuesday 12th May at 3.45pm. You can attend in person or join online. An invitation was sent home earlier in the week via email. For those who cannot attend (I realise that it is not ideal timing for everyone), all information shared will be made available to you after the meeting. Year 4 parents have the advantage of being familiar with Hill End, as children went there on their Year 3 residential. The difference this year is that we will be camping instead of staying in the dorm, so the kit list will look a little different to include bedding suitable for camping.
D&T We have started our new project and children have created some lovely designs this week. They will either make a waistcoat for themselves or for a teddy bear. We have had a good discussion about the fabric that we will need to source. Thanks to some of you for the kind offers that have already been made of items of clothing. I have asked them to start bringing in any fabric, old shirts, T-shirts, or other items that we can repurpose. We have some buttons, beads and sequins to use for decorations but any that you have at home and don’t need anymore will be gratefully received.
