Welcome to back to Term 5 in Adventure Class. 

We have had an exciting first week back and have lots to look forwards to next week too.

Our sound this week was: 'or' and we read the book 'Jim and the Corn'

We have been learning about boats and what floats on water, made plant collages for our new gardening area and spent time thinking about what helps plants grow. We had some new class jobs allocated, and learned about Rounders in P.E.

This week's sound if 'ur' as in 'purple turtle'

Our Class reader is 'Buds and Bells'

In Maths we are looking at composition of 6,7,8,9,10 as 'five and a bit'. Using our fingers and dice frames to recognise 5 and 5.

We will be making our own boats this week for junk modelling, and will read a non fiction book all about different types of boat. We continue to read 'The Train Ride' and retell stories, remembering key events. We will be adding to our plant diaries, all about what plants need to grow after adding our collages last week. We continue to learn about catching, throwing and hitting in P.E for rounders!

We have also gained some new friends- some tiny caterpillars! We will be observing how they grow and watching them as they turn into butterflies! Amazing!
