Welcome to Term 4

27 February 2026 (by Sarah Roberts (sroberts))

A fabulous first week back – well done everyone! We’ve managed well with another disrupted week – getting used to different exit routes and certain areas of school being out of bounds.

What is the legacy of the ancient Greeks? The class are already showing great interest and enthusiasm for our new topic. They are bringing a wealth of prior knowledge to our discussions which really enhances the learning experience for all.

History Research – keep it up! We have had several members of the class already sharing interesting topic- related facts and stories. Please do encourage independent research at home – then bring it in to ‘show and tell’.

Those History People – Ancient Greek Day. We are very excited about this already- mostly because we are dressing as ancient Greeks! You received an email at the start of the week explaining what the day entails. Please see the Greek Pupil Leaflet attached to the email for advice about making a costume - there is no need to buy anything new. If anyone is able to help out on the day (morning or afternoon or both), we would love to hear from you. Thankyou!

Y4 Swimming – The first week’s lesson went well – they met their instructors and were assessed by them. The Year 4s should know the swimming routine well as they swam last year and they did not disappoint. They were excellent role models for the younger Y3 cohort – just as I expected from this brilliant bunch!

Y5 T1 Rugby Megafest – I have to say how incredibly proud I was of the Year 5s on Thursday morning as they took part in the rugby festival. It was an absolute pleasure to take them to represent our school at this event. They not only gave it their all and showed real skill and determination but were impeccably behaved and kind and respectful to the other teams. Well done all of you!
