Hello all!
We've had a jam-packed week! The class have made and presented some incredibly informative slideshows on fast fashion and sustainability.
National puzzle day was celebrated with a maths lesson dedicated to all sorts of puzzles! We had a crossword race, riddles, sudoku and lots more.
In D&T the class have started making their pop-up books, which have either a V fold, a slider with spacers, or 'lift the flap' pop ups. If they would like to try some more options at home this weekend, the link to some tutorials is here!

There are LOTS to choose from, but I found the best to be the pull tab slider and the V folds. The class have seen a few and had a go at some already, but I'm sending the link for those who expressed interest!
Next week: In English we will be writing and performing poetry all about connecting with nature, as a lovely end to our topic of 'Why Oceans Matter'.
It is also National Storytelling week next week, I would love the class to bring in their absolute favourite stories - not just ones from this year - It could be a favourite from when they were 5! The Gruffalo, Winnie The Pooh, The Magic Faraway Tree etc, anything they have loved. I'd love as many as possible for us to talk about and re-live the joy! Any day next week would be great.
Maths homework is a video on SATS Bootcamp for year 6: Once logged in, they click Revise, then Topic 20. Please watch the third video titled 'solving equations' and then click the 'test yourself' button. This is what we have started in our maths lessons. It is intended to supplement our class learning so please do not spend long on this, just watch and test yourself on a few questions.
English is the skills homework books.
Please read chapters 31 and 32 of The Lost Whale in preparation for Monday's reading lesson.
Have a wonderful weekend all,
