Next Week in Investigtaor

16 January 2026 (by Sarah Roberts (sroberts))

We have had a lovely afternoon for our class treat as children built dens in the classroom, under the tables. It is heartening to see children enjoying themselves with activities like that; they were having so much fun that it was quite some time before anyone even mentioned the laptops!

Geography Topic

We have researched and found out about the importance of The Great Barrier Reef this week. In our next geography lesson we find out more about why and how our oceans are suffering. No big surprise – we are to blame! We will look at the impact human activity has on our marine environment.

Reminder

Please make sure that children are bringing planners in to school every day.

Homework

Spellings – weekly spellings or SNIP spellings

Reading – The Lost Whale is our shared reader. Read chapter 10 by Monday

English Skills – please complete the next test in the booklet

Atom Maths:  Y4 factors and multiples

                       Y5 written multiplication

Times Tables practice – 5/10 minutes several times a week. Y4  have all identified facts that they want to focus on this week and written them in their planners.

A message from Miss Wall:

Thank You for Joining Our VIPERS Reading Meeting!
A big thank you to all parents who attended this week’s VIPERS meeting on how we teach Reading in KS2 and ways you can support your child at home. Your time and engagement are greatly appreciated! For those who were unable to attend, a VIPERS guidance document is available on the class page to provide helpful tips and information.

Have a great week!
