Term 2 Week 11 November 2025 (by Sarah Roberts (sroberts)) |
The week ahead in Investigator Class
Welcome back to the first week of the new term! I hope you have all had a lovely break and are ready for the busy term ahead.
We finished last term with a wonderful art morning thanks to Sarah Lorrimer-Simmonds. Every child in the school has created their own self-portrait. I can’t wait to see them on display!
History Topic – What was life like in Tudor England?
We have already had a taste of our new topic with our visit to Sulgrave Manor where we had great fun and gained wonderful insight into the period and especially life as a Tudor child. The children looked amazing in their costumes and certainly seemed to throw themselves into character as Tudor children at play and at work. See the gallery of photos above.
Shared Text – Treason by Berlie Doherty
In Berlie Doherty’s captivating and exciting story, we follow the fortunes of Will Montague who becomes page to Prince Edward, the infant son of Henry VIII. In these dangerous times and in a story entitled ‘Treason’, events will surely take a turn for the worse and we’ll find out what happens to Will as we read this gripping tale throughout the term.
Ideally, pupils will have their own copy of the text, as reading homework will be set throughout the term. Second-hand online booksellers are a good option. Have you got your copy of the text yet?
There will be a spelling test on Thursday (spellings are pasted into planners and are also available on the class page) and English Skills homework (Test 4) should be completed by Friday morning.
Have a great week!
