It has been a busy first full week and we are really getting into the swing of the term. The children are STILL impressing me with their attitude to learning, their enthusiasm and their behaviour. Hooray for Investigator Class!

Topic and English writing

Next week we’ll continue with our information text based on our learning and independent research. Key Vocabulary therefore remains the same.

School Council and Eco Council Elections

The class had some tough decisions to make, deciding who to vote for in the two elections held today. I was impressed by children’s ideas – it was clear that some had put a lot of thought into their speeches. Results will be announced in next Monday’s assembly.

Y4 Musical Instruments

Please see the letters that children have brought home today. They need to be signed and returned to school next week, please. I will add the number when instruments are issued.

Homework

Reading – finish Chapter 3 of King of the Cloud Forests

Maths – Y4: Written Addition   Y5: Place Value, Roman Numerals, Order and Compare

Spellings – weekly spellings to learn – plenty of practice throughout the week, please.

A word about maths homework

I don’t expect children to spend overly long on this. It does not have to be completed all in one go, either. There are help videos and explanations available to guide you. You must have a pencil and paper for working out with you as you complete the questions online.
