The Week Ahead T6Wk27 June 2025 (by Sarah Roberts (sroberts)) |
It was lovely to welcome the children back to school last week and it was a super start to Term 6 for Investigator Class.
Our history topic kicked off with finding out why the Vikings came to our shores; what was their motivation for exploring, invading and settling?
The first chapters of Tony Bradman’s Viking Boy (our class reader for this term) portray a multifaceted people. The typical image of a merciless Viking warrior is depicted alongside that of a peaceful, farming community of Vikings. In true Tony Bradman style, some of the detail is quite brutal.
Our research and reading inspired our creative writing in English and the class produced some wonderful Viking descriptions.
Geography Field Trip – Monday 9th June
Our field trip to the Earth Trust at Little Wittenham will be an opportunity to revisit and consolidate Term 5's learning about rivers. The day will also include a mapwork activity. Children should wear suitable outdoor clothing. Please keep an eye on the weather forecast and dress accordingly.
