Investigator Class - The Week Ahead 10.6.24

8 June 2024 (by Sarah Roberts (sroberts))

It has been a fantastic first week and a pleasure to be back with Investigator Class who have quickly settled into the routine.

Our fieldwork enquiry topic began with identifying some key issues in our local area that need addressing. The children identified three areas:

  • car parking at school pick-up and drop-off times
  • safe cycle routes to school
  • the children’s play area

In the coming week, we will focus on data collection methods and determine what data we need to answer our enquiry question.

Porridge – we have made a great start to the play rehearsals. Our first read-through was a chance to sort out some additional lines for the new parts that had been created. The whole class worked together, listening to each other's suggestions and agreeing on the most effective lines for the scene. Fabulous teamwork from Investigator scriptwriters! The singing already sounds pretty good too.

Multiplication Tables Check (MTC)

We will be completing these in school next week. Children are well-prepared and should not feel concerned about it.

Maths – we will be completing our unit of work on Time and beginning work on Shape.

Homework –Spellings, Reading, English Skill Meetings and Atom maths

NB I have only set maths homework on Atom. Anything else is generated by Atom Learning and can be ignored.

Hill End Meeting

I hope you found last week's meeting useful. Look out for further information coming to you via email. This will include final details for travel and reminders of what to bring, as well as a medical form where you will be required to give any updated medical details and permission for school staff to administer medication should your child need it whilst away.

Have a great week everyone!
