Vision Statement and Aims

'Reach up, Reach out'

Nettlebed strives to be a place in which all children are nurtured to be the best of their ability. All members of our community are encouraged to embrace our diamond rules to demonstrate the very best standards of behaviour, moral purpose and integrity:

Show care and respect for everything and everyone

Have good manners at all times

Follow instructions with thought and care

Be the best that you can be

At Nettlebed Community School, we aim to prepare our children for their futures by being confident and independent thinkers. We strive to foster a love of learning and a ‘can do’ attitude which enables children to challenge themselves and take risks. In order to make this vision a reality, Nettlebed seeks to have:

  • a team of teachers, leaders and governors who challenge the status quo to deliver quality first teaching and learning experiences for our pupils which promote high standards and excellent outcomes for all

  • a culture of innovation to overcome barriers to learning and ensure excellent progress

  • an inspiring and exciting curriculum with excellent resources and personalised learning

  • excellent pastoral support

  • proud pupils who feel safe and secure and enjoy coming to school

  • pupils who are secure in their understanding of everyone’s rights and responsibilities and who have positive self-esteem, confidence and good communication skills

  • strong supportive parental engagement

  • a welcoming atmosphere in school where children, staff, parents, the community and visitors feel valued

  • partnerships which strengthen curriculum links and promote an awareness of the wider world as well as embrace diversity and celebrate difference
