Welcome back Highflyers!

Welcome back for term 5! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Easter break.

The topic for this term is Travel and Transport throughout history. This week the Highflyers will learn about different types of transport and write information and descriptions about how they have changed over time.

In maths the children will continue learning about Fractions, looking at equivalence of a half and 2 quarters, counting in fractions, and problem solving with fractions. We will also start our new topic on Measurement: Length & hight. The children will be taking measurements, ordering measurements and making comparisons in centimetres and metres.

This term there will be two sets of spellings (Term 3A & 3B) each week. An overview can be found on the ‘Year 2 Spelling Lists’ buttons on this page. This week set 3A is using the Suffixes -ment, -ness and -ful. Set 3B will be on Homophones and near Homophones.

Forest school will remain on Tuesdays and PE on Thursdays.
