Welcome back Highflyers!

Welcome back to school Highflyer children and families!!!

Thank you for all your hard work, kindness and support during lockdown. It was a challenging time for everyone but I believe we got through it successfully together and should feel really proud.

The timetable for this term will remain the same as it was prior to lockdown. PE Kits should therefore be worn to school on Thursdays and children should come to school in their uniform and change into their Forest School clothes on Tuesdays.

There will be a spelling test every Friday and the children’s maths homework will be marked on Fridays.

Spellings this week will be on the sound ‘o’ spelt with ‘a’ after w and qu. A list can be found on the Highflyer Webpage ‘Year 2 Spelling Lists’.

I’m excited to announce that the lovely Ms Coles has arranged for the Highflyers to meet with other children living in India via zoom this week. We will research what school life is like for children living in India and learn about ‘Formal’ and ‘Informal’ letter writing in literacy with a view of making contact with a school in India.

In maths we are continuing to learn about the properties of 3D shapes and making patterns.

This week we will also focus on the Zones of Regulation, PSCHE lessons and lots of team building games.

I look forward to an exciting week ahead with the wonderful Highflyers!
