A WORD FROM THE HEAD
Happy 'World Kindness Day' to you all. I am certainly choosing this motto for today rather than focusing on it being Friday the 13th!
A huge well done to all of you for raising such an incredible amount of money through the October Challenge. The children who took part have all been given certificates and medals today for their efforts. As a school we travelled over 700 miles which is also a phenomenal distance!
Next week sees two events in school: Odd Sock Day on Monday to celebrate our uniqueness as part of anti-bullying week and our annual school cross country on Friday.
Odd Sock Day - Monday 16th November 2020
Odd sock day forms part of the anti-bullying alliance week and we have taken part in previous years. The children will be taking part in a national assembly as well which discusses and celebrates all of our unique characteristics. Throughout the week, the children will be discussing issues surrounding bullying its impact and how we all have a role to play in preventing it taking place.

Nettlebed Annual Cross Country - Friday
We sadly obviously cannot have all of our lovely volunteers to go to the woods or into the Sue Ryder grounds, but that is no reason for the children to miss out on a mass school run. Instead, we will plot a course through the school grounds and run in separate bubbles to ensure we all still earn points for our House and build a sense of community. Next Friday please can your child wear sports kit and if they are staying in school for the afternoon, bring a spare pair of shoes. We will announce the winning House in due course.
Thank you to everyone who is playing their part in keeping everyone in our community safe throughout the pandemic. As a school, we often get asked if we know of any families who may be struggling financially at this time and finding it hard to make ends meet. Whilst none of us like to talk about finances, please do let me or Mrs Sedwell know if this is you. The information is of course confidential and we may well be able to link you with some of the offers we have had to help those in need.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend and take care.
