Week ahead in Highflyer, 13th Sept

The children had a fantastic week of learning and enjoyed their first time at forest school!

I am delighted to announce the Highflyer’s voted Lyra and Michaela as their school council representatives. Poppy and Isobel will continue to represent the class as Eco-Councillors.

The week ahead..

English & Topic

This week we will be looking at formal and informal styles of writing. The children will learn to write a letter to a character from a story and to an author.

Spellings

The spellings to learn this week are focusing on the sounds /r/ spelt ‘wr’ at the beginning of words. An overview of this term’s spellings can be found on this Highflyer class page.

Maths

We will continue the unit on Place Value. The children will learn about representing numbers to 100 and using tens and ones with a part-whole model.

RE

We will continue our unit is on ‘Rules and Routines’. We will look at why we have rules and routines and how they help us in our everyday lives.
