Week Ahead In Discovery Class 16.11.2020
It has been yet another exciting and busy week in Discovery Class. We have been learning about the various landmarks in the UK. The children wrote and designed their own leaflets, enticing people to visit one of the countries in the United Kingdom. This has been fun, exciting and the children are truly proud of their achievements.
We will be looking at how to write a formal letter in the coming week. All children will be writing a letter to Her Majesty the Queen.
Maths: Continuation of multiplication and division unit. There has also been opportunities in class and through additional homework to practise column addition and subtraction.
Science: Last week, we looked more into the 3 types of rocks, fossils, the layers of soil, natural and man-made rocks. Conducting experiments on a variety of rocks to check their durability or not, permeable or impermeable and their uses in everyday life.
RE: This unit will teach the class about the key parts of the Nativity story. The children will work creatively to enhance their learning experience. They will find out how the Nativity story began.
Cross-Country Race: On Friday 20th November 2020 please ensure your child comes dressed in their PE kits and waterproof coats. Each class will be out on the field taking part in the challenge according to the timetable set for the day. Hopefully it will stay dry!
Homework: Weekly spellings, times tables, maths booklets (specified section) additional maths sheet and daily reading at home. Your support at home is truly valued, thank you.
Have a good week!
