Week Ahead in Discovery 7.12.2020
Not long now, until the end of Term 2. The Christmas tree in Discovery is up and decorated by the children. We have a very long paper chain, now hanging in class. This was good fun and definitely team effort.
English/Topic: We have looked at the seasons and the weather of the U.K. This inspired us to write both acrostic poems and rhyming poetry. It has been a pleasure to hear and read the poems in class.
Mog's Christmas Calamity: The week ahead, the children will be writing a story as Mog the cat.
The story/video is about how the cat sets the house ablaze. Christmas day isn't ruined but saved for the family, by the community spirit shown by the people.
Story writing will involve all the learning so far, incorporating their SPaG knowledge. The children will be writing their stories, from the cat's point of view.
Maths: Continuation of multiplication and division block. There will also be continuous column addition and subtraction.
Please ensure that your child is continuing to learn their times tables at home, thank you.
Art: We will be looking at ways to print this week.
Due to the current situation, all classes will be recording their Christmas performances. It would be lovely, if your child could bring in their Christmas jumper for their song on Thursday 10th December 20. Children will wear their school uniform as normal after the recording. Thank you for your continued support!
Hope you all have a good week ahead.
