Week Ahead 5.10.2020
We are more than halfway through term 1. The children have settled into class and routine so beautifully! It's great to see their positive attitude towards their learning week after week.
Topic/ English: On Monday, we read the autobiography of 'Otto' the German teddy bear. They also watched a brief video clip about WW2. All children wrote their own fiction story with Otto featuring in it. They used adjective, adverbs, punctuations, paragraphs, incorporated some of their weekly spellings in their writing, whilst following the structure of a fiction based story.
In the coming week, we will be looking at propaganda posters, what is persuasion and creating their own propaganda posters.
Maths: We are continuing with addition and subtraction with the use of mathematical vocabulary. This unit will continue, until the end of the term.
Computing: Using Scratch programming has been good fun! All the children had the opportunity to create their own animated character, making it move, adding speech, a background and sound. They have thoroughly enjoyed this activity.
Homework: All children have been issued with a maths booklet. Please could you ensure that your child is completing the necessary sections each week. This week the children are required to complete section C. They will also need to write their numbers from 50 to a 100 in words and in digits on some paper. Practise their times tables (2,3,4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11), learn their spellings each week and read everyday. I would really appreciate that their planners are signed regularly. Your support is greatly appreciated each week.
Hope you all have a great week ahead!
