The Week Ahead in Challenger Class

The children were fantastic last week and I was delighted by the way they have settled in to their new class. Well done everybody!
They have all brought home their new planners and a reading book. Please spend some time reading at home this weekend and comment in the planner.
By clicking on the button 'Curriculum and Timetable Info.', you will be able to access information about the term ahead (a letter, an overview of the curriculum for this term and a timetable). You'll see that PE days are on Monday and Thursday and children should wear their PE Kits to school on those days.
In English we'll be writing instructions for catching a bear using Michael Rosen's wonderful story book 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' as inspiration.
In maths we will be sorting up to 10 objects, counting objects to 10 and representing objects and numbers up to 10. For the first few weeks we will be reinforcing and establishing secure knowledge of numbers within 10. Children are more than welcome to practise counting beyond at home and we do so regularly in the classroom - forwards and backwards!
Have a great week everybody!
