Endeavour Class -The Week Ahead.

Dear Endeavour Class,

Within our topic, we are moving forward in time to 1588 and finding out about the battle of the Spanish Armada. With a new monarch to research and learning about fighting in ships, it will be change from battles on land and an exciting event to study. With key people such as Queen Elizabeth I, King Phillip of Spain and Sir Francis Drake we will discover what it was like to be in the throes of battle through the eyes of a sailor boy and to write about his experiences.

Maths topics are continuing to practise addition and subtraction, understanding how these are linked to solve calculations and showing how the formal column method is used with larger numbers. This method really needs a solid understanding of place value for exchange over the columns to be confident.

Please continue practising times tables. There will be regular tests every week.

Spellings have been sent home last Thursday and will be tested next Thursday. They are in the planners at the bottom of the page for last week. Please click on the link below for the list if needed. Maths homework is Test 2, due in 8th October, when it will be marked. If your child finishes their homework earlier, then they are welcome to bring it into school before Thursday. A reminder too that P.E. days are on Monday and Wednesday and to bring in a coat and a change of shoes with the weather being cooler and wetter. All breaks will be outside unless it is torrential rain.
