Geography Topic Work and Writing

Our geography focus will be on the USA this week. We will discover further facts about this vast country which is the most populous country in the Americas and the third most populous in the world.

Our English lessons centre around Mordicai Gerstein's picture book The Man Who Walked Between the Towers.

This book will also be the basis of some work in our French lessons where children will use biographical details about this extraordinary man in speaking and writing activities.

Maths

Year 4 continue with multiplication and division.

Year 5 continue their unit of work on fractions.

Special Events this Week

Tuesday morning - Pudsey will be visiting Nettlebed School! Children must wear school uniform but can also wear Pudsey ears and Tshirts, if they wish. As a class we will be aiming to complete 1000 Bearpees over the week. If you would like to sponsor the children, please use the link in Mrs Greenwood's Friday round-up to sponsor the event.

Tuesday afternoon - a special British Values online lesson deliverd by Picture News

Friday - Send your smartest children to school for individual school photos.

Saturday evening - some of our children are singing at the Cafe Chaos gig

Science: Air Resistance - Y5 made their own air-powered rockets and investigated the aerodynamics of rocket design.

Year 4 boys gave of their best at the Y3/4 Football Tournament at Langtree. We were very proud of their achievements and their excellent attitude on and off the pitch. Although the girls weren't actually present, they were there in spirit cheering our teams on. They made 'Go Boys' posters to support their classmates!

Have a wonderful week!
