Investigator Class Term 2: Week 6

We saw some children head off to a rather chilly cross-country meet last week - a huge well done to all our Investigators that competed. Our papier-mache creations are now taking shape! We hope to complete this this coming week, with authentic Greek designs. The children have been working hard to plan a Greek myth of their very own - we've had some brilliant conversations about the creative possibilities!

Looking ahead this week

Our English lessons this week will consist of finishing the writing of our Greek myths and then editing them so we can print them out.

In maths, we are going to try out some maths games and set up a Times Table Rockstars battle!

In RE we will be exploring the 'real' Christmas story! This should evoke some interesting conversations and discussions.

We will begin working on our Christmas decorations too - we are all very excited for this to begin!

Notices:

I must reiterate this request: children are very hungry by lunchtime at 12:30 if they haven't had a snack during the morning. Particularly children who are having hot lunches as they are unable to take anything from a packed lunch. With the colder weather, it is hard for them to get through the morning without eating. Please could you provide children with a healthy snack to eat at 10:45, it would help them greatly with their learning sessions after break.

Please do ensure all children have a waterproof jacket to come into school, a spare pair of shoes for the walled garden is also now highly recommended as we enter the wetter months.

REMINDER: Don't forget to bring clarinets into school each Wednesday!

Homework:

Mental Arithmetic homework should be completed and handed in on Wednesday morning.

English Skills homework should be completed and handed in on Thursday morning.

Spelling Tests take place on Thursday.

Have a fabulously festive week ahead!
