Investigator Class Term 2: Week 5
We had a lovely, busy week looking at and trying to recreate ancient Greek vases! Our papier-mache creations are still in the very early stages but we will complete the structure of them this coming week and then paint our designs on them.

Looking ahead this week
We begin the week with reading some Greek myths - we will look at the features of them and then attempt to write our own towards the end of the week.
In maths, we continue our unit on 'Multiplication & Division', examining in detail, number facts from all of our times tables.
In history we will study the Olympics - when they started and what they looked like in comparison to the Olympic games we see today.
Notices:
I must reiterate this request: children are very hungry by lunchtime at 12:30 if they haven't had a snack during the morning. Particularly children who are having hot lunches as they are unable to take anything from a packed lunch. With the colder weather, it is hard for them to get through the morning without eating. Please could you provide children with a healthy snack to eat at 10:45, it would help them greatly with their learning sessions after break.
Please do ensure all children have a waterproof jacket to come into school, a spare pair of shoes for the walled garden is also now highly recommended as we enter the wetter months.
REMINDER: Don't forget to bring clarinets into school each Wednesday!
Homework:
Mental Arithmetic homework should be completed and handed in on Wednesday morning.
English Skills homework should be completed and handed in on Thursday morning.
Spelling Tests take place on Thursday.
Christmas Star
House Competition
This is your chance to get creative and win points and hopefully the trophy for your House.
Make and decorate a star for this year’s star Competition. Each star will receive 5 points.
Your star needs to be able to go outside as our tree will be in the playground this year so we can all admire it.
Please use recycled or natural materials.
The winning star will receive 50 points and sit pride of place on top of our Christmas tree!
The house with the most points will be awarded the coveted Christmas Star trophy.
Remember we want your own creation – don’t let over enthusiastic Mums and Dads muscle in on the action!
All entries to be brought into school on Friday 3rd December 2021
Have a brilliant week!
