Investigator Class Term 2: Week 3
Please do ask the children to show you how to access their Powerpoint presentations if you have a moment - they're very proud of them and have been enjoying looking through some books to research all sorts of facts about the Ancient Greek civilisation!
Looking ahead this week

This week we will be learning about Alexander the Great; who he was and what he did. We will complete persuasive letters of application and use our editing skills to ensure they are polished.
In maths, we will be beginning a huge new unit on 'Multiplication & Division' following a short assessment on Length & Perimeter on Monday.
We will start a mini project to create our own Grecian vases this week - we will design them, consider how we will make them and papier-mâché them! We are all very excited to get started with these!
Please could I ask that the children cast their eye over the statutory spellings for their year group? These can be found in planners and I will upload them to our page on the website so that they are easily accessible there too. There are words which the children are expected to know by the end of LKS2 or UKS2. It would be great for them to take a look every now and then.
Notices:
I must reiterate this request: children are very hungry by lunchtime at 12:30 if they haven't had a snack during the morning. Particularly children who are having hot lunches as they are unable to take anything from a packed lunch. With the colder weather approaching, it is hard for them to get through the morning without eating. Please could you provide children with a healthy snack to eat at 10:45, it would help them greatly with their learning sessions after break.
Please do ensure all children have a waterproof jacket to come into school, a spare pair of shoes for the walled garden is now highly recommended as we enter the wetter months.
It is also advised that children wear layers under their uniform. Due to Covid numbers increasing, we are keeping doors and windows open as much as possible to allow good air flow, and the classroom can be a bit chilly at times.
Don't forget to bring clarinets into school each Wednesday!
Thank you!
Homework:
Mental Arithmetic homework should be completed and handed in on Wednesday morning.
English Skills homework should be completed and handed in on Thursday morning.
Spelling Tests take place on Thursday.
Have a lovely week!
