Final Week of Term 5 22.5.23

Time seems to be flying by and we are in the final week of term 5. I bet the children are looking forward to a well earned week off school.

  • Last week, the children wrote some fantastic ocean shape poems. They learned what about calligrams, then looked at examples of shape poetry and its features. Researched their sea creatures using computers and creating some entertaining poems.

  • In Science, we looked at the structure of the leaf and its functions. The children were very excited see the leaf stomata using a microscope and crystal like water droplets.

We have now finished the class text The Sandman and The Turtles. Children will write a short story this week based on the book and characters, but they will recreate their own creature instead of the Sandman.

Maths: Continuation of Time Unit

Homework: daily reading, practising time tables, English and Maths homework booklets.

Wishing you all a lovely week ahead.
