Final Week of Term

I can hardly believe that we have reached the final week of term. It has been a busy few weeks and the children are very excited about the forthcoming celebrations. They have worked hard all term and I am delighted to see them make such pleasing progress in their learning. I hope that they are just as proud of their achievements as I am.
The final week of term will be a busy one – it is nearly Christmas after all! We’ll pack in some learning, some Christmas fun and we'll try not to get too excited.
Key events this week are:
Tuesday - A chance to visit the FONS present room to buy a present for a family member.
Wednesday – Christmas lunch and class parties in the afternoon
Thursday – Star of the term assembly including the première of Nettlebed’s Christmas Show.
Friday – 1.30 finish for all.
Spellings
I have not set any spellings to learn this week although we will be doing phonics as normal. The focus is on alternative spellings for /oa/ (oa, oe, o-e, ow, ough, o). I will be sending out individual CEW/High Frequency word lists towards the end of the week.
Finally, I wish you all the very best for a happy and peaceful festive season.
