Endeavour Class -The Week Ahead.

Dear Endeavour Class,

As we continue studying the people of North America we will look at the different cultures and customs of different tribes, thinking about their clothing, houses and diet. We will also be exploring further the symbolism of Totem Poles, continuing with our designs and creating a Totem Pole story.

On Friday there is a non-school uniform day for an item to be donated to the annual Christmas hampers. Also, the House Christmas Star Competition deadline is Friday morning. The star must be durable enough to be outside this year. Please find the information from the School office email. Remember, the winner will gain 50 house points!

After the last three weeks in maths where we have practised daily how to use 'bars' to solve problems, we will continue to use these skills regularly in maths problems. We will also be practising division, making sure there is confidence in using formal methods.

Please use the Times Tables Rock Stars website. Your child has a personal login which they know.

Over the next couple of weeks there will be assessments of your child's learning in English and maths as we approach the end of this term.

Spellings have been sent home and will be tested next Thursday on the 3 December. A copy is below. Maths homework is Test 9, due in 3 December, when it will be marked. If your child finishes their homework earlier, then they are welcome to bring it into school before the due day. English homework this term is due in on a Wednesday. This week Test 4 is due in on 2nd December.

A reminder too that P.E. days are on Monday and Wednesday and to bring in a coat and a change of shoes with the weather being cooler and wetter. All breaks will be outside unless it is torrential rain. If your child is in Year 5 and attends Forest School on a Wednesday, please ensure they have a full set of warm waterproof clothing which must be changed into during lunchtime so they are prepared for the afternoon and whatever the weather maybe that day. Please see the curriculum letter for more information about Term 2.
