Endeavour Class -The Week Ahead.
Dear Endeavour Class,
This week we continue studying the Civil Rights Movement. We will be looking further into Ruby Bridges and writing our own description of her life at school in the 1960s.
From there we will continue to write our own persuasive texts.
This month is BARVEMBER! Within maths we are doing daily problems that need 'bars' to visualise and work out the answer. Other maths topics are continuing with division, exploring factors, multiples and primes.
Please continue practising times tables. This knowledge to recall facts quickly is vital to help with many maths concepts. There will be regular tests every week. Please use the Times Tables Rock Stars website. Your child has a personal login which they know.
Spellings have been sent home and will be tested next Thursday on the 19th November. A copy is below. Maths homework is Test 7, due in 19th November, when it will be marked. If your child finishes their homework earlier, then they are welcome to bring it into school before the due day. English homework this term is due in on a Wednesday. This week Test 2 is due in on 18th November.
A reminder too that P.E. days are on Monday and Wednesday and to bring in a coat and a change of shoes with the weather being cooler and wetter. All breaks will be outside unless it is torrential rain. If your child is in Year 5 and attends Forest School on a Wednesday, please ensure they have a full set of warm waterproof clothing which must be changed into during lunchtime so they are prepared for the afternoon and whatever the weather maybe that day. Please see the curriculum letter for more information about Term 2.
