Endeavour Class: Term 4, Week 2

We had a brilliantly busy first week back last week - we enjoyed reminiscing about our time in Yenworthy and the children worked incredibly hard to put together their powerpoint presentations for our Friday assembly. I was very proud of how well they delivered them to such a huge audience! And it was lovely to see so many parents there too.

This week we will be learning what it was like to live during the times of the Shang Dynasty; we will explore the social hierarchy of the time and what life was like for different people under Shang rule.

Year 6 continue their unit of learning on Decimals - they are using their previous knowledge incredibly well to secure the concepts of the unit.

This week, year 6 begin to sit some practise SATS papers as part of out preparation for the tests next term. We will be alternating maths and reading and SPaG papers each week.

It's World Book Day this Thursday, the children are welcome to dress up as a character from a book they have read - I have heard some ideas already! Please remember that there is no pressure for the children to have a full costume, sometimes, the fun is where you get a little more creative. House and Vice captains have been asked to read a short story to their house which will be followed by an opportunity for the children to share any books they wish.

Have a great week ahead,

Mrs Burbedge
