Dear Parents and Carers,
Well hasn't this term whizzed by! This week is last of the term and we will be continuing the harvest theme by using the pumpkins we have grown in our walled garden by creating a delicious soup. We will look at designing our own recipe and writing an evaluation. Of course, there will be a taste test!
Over the last two weeks the Buddy Introduction assemblies from Year 6 were a testament to how the Year 6 children really tried to do their best to make sure their little Buddy was included and welcomed. It was a joy to see how diligent and caring they were to the EY children and how thoughtful they are in their Buddy meet times. I am glad so many parents were able to join us on both Fridays and welcome the new children into the school.
In maths we are continuing with division and the formal methods of short and long division. The knowledge of times tables is really important, especially in using division, so please encourage your child to practice a little every day. Don't forget they have a login to Times Times Rocks Stars.
Reminders: P.E. days are Tuesday and Friday for Year 6. Forest School for Year 5s is on Tuesday and P.E. is on Friday.
Homework has been given out for Maths and English - this week Section 1 Test 6 is due in on the appropriate day. Your child will have brought a book home for each subject. Maths is due in on Wednesday, English Skills is due in on Thursday. Please see below the links for the letter and for the current spellings.
