In our topic work we will learn about Greek myths; who told them, why they told them and what they tell us about the Ancient Greeks.

We will focus on the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur. Writing tasks will include a story recount from the point of view of one of the characters.

Our phonics focus for this week is on alternative pronunciations for the letters i, o, c, g and u. Children will learn that there are variations in the way that these graphemes are pronounced.

In maths, continue with our addition and subtraction unit where the focus for this week will be mainly on strategies for subtracting.

Working hard in maths last week - sorting odds and evens, counting in 2s from 0 or from 1 and discussing what makes and odd number 'odd' and an even number 'even'.
