After an amazing week of looking at fun books to explore what we see around us, using our hands to paint animals, imaginative work on aliens and making multicoloured glasses we will change our focus to the sense of smell this coming week.
We will be using our sense of smell to identify familiar foods or fragrances. Can we describe other smells around us? The books we read will help us to think about different animals and their ability to smell to help us.
In phonics the children have learnt many of the single sounds and will be spelling out simple words in writing. They will use the tricky words learnt so far to read sentences.
In school we have been walking around the playground most days to add to the distance for the October challenge. The distance covered will be sent to parents at the end of each week.
