Adventure class. Term 4. Week 4

Last week we had parents as volunteers to talk about their jobs, and how they are related with Science. Children loved it so much that we carried out our own floating experiment in Adventure class. Also, we practised our "confident position"!

This week we had another exciting and busy week! We had a great visit from a helicopter from the RAF!! The children were extremely excited and they enjoyed watching the helicopter land and take off, but not only that, they had the opportunity to listen to what the pilots do in their job and the children could ask lots of questions. In addition children could enjoy the full experience by going in the helicopter and sitting in the back of the helicopter! Their smiles describe everything.

The fairy tale of the week was The Little Red Hen, where children learned that when someone asked for help it's nice to say yes, even more when is about baking a cake! Adventure children wrote their own recipe and made their own cakes! Yummy!

In Phonics we carried on learning our Phase 4 sounds. Tricky words of the week: help, one, out.

In Maths we are consolidating the understanding on the composition of numbers within 7. Composing and de-composing numbers involves the children investigating part-part-whole relations, eg. 7 can be made of 5 and 2. In addition we practised counting back from 20.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
