Adventure class. Term 2. Week 4

Adventure children have been very busy doing rehearsals for the Christmas play and many other activities this week. This week we have talked and celebrated Thanks giving and the children have been writing their own list of things that they are thankful for!

In Science we have been learning that different animals have different body parts to survive in their habitat. Also, we talked about the Equator and how the Earth is hotter close to it and how the Earth is coldest where the poles are.

In Phonics we have nearly finished all the sounds of the alphabet! This week's phonics are: x, y, z. Tricky words that tried to trick us: you, are, we, into. Children can have a go at saying/writing sentences with them (Ex: You are nice) (Allow grammatical mistakes that they don't know yet, the important thing is that they are having a go at writing what they can hear, ex nice: nais).

In Maths this week we have been understanding the number composition of 3, 4 and 5, composing and de-composing numbers allows children to investigate part-part-whole relations. Through practical experience, they will consolidate their understanding of a whole being made up of smaller parts. Ask your child ways to make 4 and 5 with either fingers or other resources.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
