SCHOOL GOVERNORS

There are ten governors at Nettlebed, comprising :-

• 4 parent governors
• 2 staff governor
• 2 LEA appointed governors
• 2 Community governors

All these serve a four year term of office, which can be renewed.

The governors meet at least once a term to receive a full report from the Headteacher and to review the development of the school.  In addition, governors share responsibility with the staff through sub-committees for areas such as

• Health and Safety
• Special Needs
• Buildings and Grounds
• Finance
• Curriculum and Staffing
• Recruitment and Appointment of new staff

Governors have a key role in the overview of the school and in steering the direction of new initiatives.  They also act as arbitrators where a disagreement with the headteacher cannot be resolved.
